Doug Levine, Co-Founder / Executive Director

Doug Levine has been involved in volleyball as a player and coach for the last 40 years. After playing at the University of Maryland from 1983-87, he came back to teach and coach at his High School alma mater, Hunter H.S. There, he led the 1988 Boys Varsity Volleyball team to a PSAL Championship. During his graduate studies, Doug worked with the University of New Mexico’s Women’s Varsity team where they were ranked as high as 9th in the AVCA’s NCAA Women’s Volleyball poll. He also ran the UNM Men’s Volleyball Club and directed and coached the Albuquerque Juniors Volleyball club for 2 years.

Upon his return to NYC, Doug co-founded the New York City Junior Volleyball Association in 1993 where he started coaching boys and girls form both public and private schools. Over the past 31 years, he has coached every age group and has qualified numerous teams for USAV Girls Junior National Championships.

Doug has coached at Grace Church School (PreK-8), the Dalton School and is presently teaching and coaching at the Brearley School (25 years) where the Varsity team has earned a selection to 18 NYSAISAA Volleyball tournaments and won the 2005 and 2010 NYSAISAA Volleyball Championships

In 2004, Doug helped create the GEVA High Performance Program where he served as an administrator and coach. He has since coached several GEVA HP teams that competed at the International High Performance Volleyball Championships.

Doug has a B.S. Degree in Kinesiology and a M.S. in Physical Education with and emphasis in Pediatric Exercise Physiology. He is a USA Volleyball CAP Level II coach, and is one of the three people in the GEVA Region qualified to certify other coaches in receiving their IMPACT certification.


Kendra Wilson, Director of Operations

Kendra has been with NYC Juniors since moving to NY in 2009. She serves as both Director of Operations and as a coach at the 13U or 14U age groups. She began coaching in 2003 in her home town of Gainesville, Florida and has since led 14 teams to Regional Finals in both Florida and NY, and 18 teams to National Championship events.

Kendra has coached middle and high school volleyball teams both in Florida and NYC, founded a summer camp for elementary aged players in Florida, and supervised the development of Success Academy Charter Schools volleyball program in 2013. From 2009-2012, Kendra served as head varsity volleyball coach at the Marymount School of NY, and is currently the varsity head coach at Avenues: The World School in Chelsea. Kendra has also coached with Regional and National USAV High Performance Programs since 2012, and was selected as a 2014 recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association 30-under-30 Award.

In addition to coaching, Kendra is also a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and serves as Wellness and Movement Coordinator at Avenues: The World School, specializing in instruction of fundamental movement skills and social-emotional wellbeing (grades K-12).


Andy Mueller, Administrative Director & College Recruiting Consultant

Andy has been with NYC Juniors since 2013, and has coached 16 National, 17 National and 18 National teams. Since moving to New York in 2012, Coach Andy has worked with a number of Division I programs (Columbia, Fordham, St. Francis and LIU) and he is currently the head coach at Iona University in New Rochelle. 

Andy serves as NYC Juniors Administrative Director, managing tournament and travel coordination, and general communications. 

As the club's College Recruiting Consultant, Andy meets with athletes/parents to discuss college playing opportunities for NYC Juniors athletes. In addition, he is the director of NYC Elite Prospect College Camp, bringing college coaches to the city for an exclusive training and recruiting experience each summer. Regular attendees include Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth, Boston College, MIT, Georgetown, Syracuse, U Chicago, Hamilton, Trinity, and Connecticut College. These college coaches run and evaluate fifty of the country's top prep athletes over a weekend in New York City!


Andy Mueller

Administrative Director

Terence Simpson, Associate Director - Staten Island

Coach Terence Simpson has been coaching volleyball for the past 20 years. He coaches varsity volleyball and teaches both math and computers at Bay Ridge Preparatory School, a private K-12 school that he started with colleagues in 1998. Coach Simpson has been with NYC Juniors for 15 years coaching, and was instrumental in the expansion of the club into Brooklyn and Staten Island. He has worked with teams of all ages and skill levels and has also spent the past several years training the Region's elite players at the GEVA-USA High Performance Training Camps.

Coach Simpson has a B.S. in psychology from Fordham University and has a Master’s degree in school psychology and special education. In addition to coaching, he also plays on a men’s club team, runs volleyball clinics for adults, and is a Certified Junior Official. He is also a fifth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and teaches karate for both children and adults.

Terence lives in Staten Island and runs all NYC Juniors Staten Island programs.
