2022-2023 Season Information

Teams are formed through a competitive tryout process in late August. See "Tryouts" tab above for more details.

NYC Juniors offers 3 levels of club teams

Level Age Groups Competitive Commitment
National Teams 11U - 18U Nationally competitive with extensive travel schedule
Travel Teams 13U - 18U Regionally competitive with moderate travel schedule (max 4 hrs drive)
Metro Teams 11U & 12U Locally competitive. No overnight travel.

Season Info

  • Practices begin in early November (after the school season)
  • Tournaments run January - early May (June or early July for teams attending Nationals)
  • Practice and tournament schedules varies by team - more schedule information will be available in August/September

Team Fees

  • Fees can be paid as a lump sum or monthly installments
  • Fees include gym rentals, coaches' stipends, equipment, practice gear, as well as athletes' hotel stays and flights
  • NOT Included: uniforms, transportation to local or regional tournaments, food expenses during travel

Financial Aid is available. Team tryouts are need-blind. Families will apply for financial aid AFTER they are offered a spot on a team.

NYC Juniors plans to field the following teams for the upcoming season: 

National & Travel Teams

 
  • 2 weeknight practices in Manhattan + Sundays (Manhattan or Brooklyn)
  • 4-5 single-day tournaments + 4-5 overnight tournaments January-April
  • Striving to qualify for USAV Nationals Championships in June/July 
18U

  • Includes hotel stays for 5 overnight tournaments
  • Includes airfare for 2 tournaments (including Nationals)
  • Includes fees for Nationals, April 28th-30th (Columbus, OH)
16U & 17U

  • Focus on top competition and college recruiting
  • Includes hotel stays for 5 tournaments + Nationals
  • Includes airfare for 2 tournaments (including Nationals)
  • Includes June tournament + Nationals, July 3rd-6th (Chicago)
11U-15U

  • No airfare required (unless team qualifies for Nationals)
